I would like to begin my email with one of my favorite Bible verses. It’s Numbers 6:24-26. It says, “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
If you know the power of prayer, you know prayer is the key that unlocks all doors. That is one of the reasons why I’m trying to build a habit of praying for others immediately, instead of saying “I will be praying for you.” I think praying for someone shouldn’t be a way of saying something nice, an excuse to say “no” or end conversations. There’s power because God who created the whole universe, who loves us and cares for us listens to our prayers.
What if we actually did that? What if we actually pray for one another? We will witness a lot of doors opening and people praising the name of Jesus.
I have a suggestion for you. I’m signed up to receive weekly emails from North American Mission Board and International Mission Board with the list of prayer requests from pastors, planters, ministry leaders, and missionaries. When I receive them, I spend a couple of hours praying for them and sending notes to the person who requested prayer. In the email, I include my prayer for them and also share my prayer request with them.
Would you like to sign up a mailing list or check out a website to learn what to pray and pray for them? I mentioned NAMB and IMB’s prayer connect, but I’m sure you can find more ways to receive prayer requests. When someone asks, I want to encourage you to pray for them and let them know you prayed. As you are praying for others, I hope you can also share your prayer requests with them.
We’re blessed to be a blessing, right? I truly believe that God blesses Overflowing through your prayer, love, and generosity because he wants us to be a blessing in and for our community for Jesus. Thank you so much for your generosity.
Praying for you right now that the Lord would bless you and keep you. Let me know if you have any prayer requests.
We’re praying about signing the new lease within 2 weeks, getting ready, and continuing our journey of becoming the church in and for our community on Sunday, November 1. You will hear more about it as we are seeing the doors opening, but please continue to pray for us that God would send us more people with generosity.
You’re more than welcome to share our prayer request on https://overflowing.church/1901/ with prayer warriors you know. 😀
